Culture & Competition

I went to the New Museum with my friend Elizabeth a few days after Christmas. While there was a line to get in, it moved quickly. I think they were also really busy because it was the week between Christmas and New Years and the majority of people had off from school and work. The most popular exhibit was Pipilotti Rist: Pixel Forest, which takes up three floors of the museum. To be honest, I wasn’t overly impressed with the actual museum. Other than a fun instagram picture, we felt we didn’t get much out of it. It didn’t help that it was so busy either. The amount of people made it difficult to thoroughly enjoy anything.
After the museum we felt the need to immerse ourselves in Christmas decor and made our annual stop at Rolf’s German Restaurant for some mulled wine and eggnog. Then we headed to Spin for a few games of ping-pong. Nothing like a competitive battle between two besties, to liven up your rainy Thursday afternoon! Off-peak hours are priced at $29 an hour and there are waitresses that come around so you can order drinks. I ordered my usual Tito’s and soda with mint leaves, and Elizabeth went with a Moscow Mule.
